Many people are incredulous when they hear claims that big narratives like 9/11, climate change and Covid are deceptions. They cannot imagine that so many people would lie, that a false consensus could be imposed on such a grand scale.
To which I'd say, well, take Shakespeare for instance. Shakespeare's biography, in the context of the works ascribed to him, is one of the most absurd stories ever told. It makes Santa Claus or the Tooth Fairy look like a mundane report on yesterday's weather. Many writers, including myself, have spent spent decades investigating and exposing the problems with this narrative, and yet we are told a consensus of Shakespeare scholars concur that "Shakespeare wrote Shakespeare." To put it bluntly, if you are a teacher of literature and you would lie about this, you would lie about anything. You can't be trusted to tell the time of day. That's where we're at as a society.
